Yoga Therapy
You'll receive daily yoga therapy, which includes the practice of pranayamas, mudras, asanas, kriyas, and meditation. There will also be spaces for conversations where we'll share philosophy rooted in the authentic traditions of yoga, all approached from an anti-colonial, feminist, and social justice perspective as a path toward collective liberation.
Venue
The retreat will take place at Kawoq Forest, a serene haven nestled in the lush Guatemalan highlands, overlooking the stunning Lake Atitlán in San Marcos La Laguna. Kawoq Forest is a sanctuary of natural beauty, offering a perfect blend of tranquility and adventure. It’s designed for those seeking to restore their body, mind, and soul. Accommodations include shared rooms for 4, 3, or 2 people, as well as private cabins, ensuring a personalized and comfortable stay.
Ayurveda
During the retreat, you'll discover your dosha, learn how to practice to keep it balanced, and explore which foods are medicinal for your dosha. You'll also learn when to eat according to your dosha's needs. This personalized approach allows you to have a tailored experience even within a group setting.
Food
You'll enjoy a delicious brunch and dinner every day, featuring vegetarian meals made from fresh, locally sourced, and seasonal ingredients. Each meal is thoughtfully prepared by the loving hands of local women, blending taste and nutrition to support your well-being. Filtered water is available unlimited, along with snacks and teas tailored to each dosha.
Transportation
Group transport is included from the airport to Kawoq Forest on the arrival date and from Kawoq Forest to the airport on the departure date.
Community
The retreat includes access to a close-knit community of like-minded individuals in a private and intimate group where we can share ideas, opinions, and perspectives. This will be a diverse and inclusive group, guided by facilitators who honor both individual experiences and the collective as a whole.
